Lauren Chandler’s Recovery Journey
Pastor Matt Chandler recently shared an encouraging update regarding his wife, Lauren, following her discharge from the hospital after being treated for a mysterious illness.
After several days of stay, Lauren is now back home, focusing on her recovery.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, Matt noted that her vital signs look promising.
Although they are still awaiting some lab results, he assured his followers that any issues can be managed outside of the hospital.
He expressed deep gratitude for the medical team, especially the infectious diseases specialist who played a key role in facilitating her release.
As she embarks on her recovery journey, Matt asked everyone to keep Lauren in their prayers, highlighting that the healing process could take a couple of months.
Hospitalization and Diagnosis
Earlier, he had revealed details about Lauren’s hospitalization, mentioning that she had been admitted due to a high fever and other concerning symptoms.
Despite undergoing extensive tests, results came back negative, leading her doctors to suspect a viral infection.
Matt remained optimistic, believing that improvement was just around the corner.
He also shared some of the complications Lauren faced during her stay, including a debilitating headache from a spinal tap and pneumonia.
A few days later, he offered a ray of hope with news that her condition was improving, as she appeared more lively and had a healthier complexion.
While the specific virus causing her illness remains unknown, doctors have ruled out many major autoimmune diseases.
They suggested that Lauren could return home once she went 48 hours without a fever or the need for medications to reduce it.
Community Support and Lauren’s Contributions
Throughout this trying time, Matt has been vocal in asking for prayers and expressing heartfelt gratitude to their community for its unwavering support and kind wishes.
Lauren Chandler is not only a beloved worship leader at The Village Church, where Matt has served as lead pastor for over twenty years, but she is also a talented author and musician.
Her creative repertoire includes picture books like “Praise Him!” and “Goodbye to Goodbyes,” alongside the memoir “Steadfast Love” and the Christian music album “The Narrow Place,” which features the worship single “Steadfast Love.” Moreover, she has penned Bible studies like “With Us in the Wilderness,” drawing inspiration from the book of Numbers.
